Vital Design Solutions Inc. (VDS) is a mechanical engineering consultancy based in Saskatchewan, Canada, founded by Philip LePoudre and Reza Haghgoo. Philip LePoudre (PhD., P.Eng)
Managing Partner & Founder
Philip has a proven track record of advanced engineering R&D, specializing in design of liquid to air membrane exchangers and conditioning systems for commercial HVAC and data center cooling. He was the technology lead and principal designer of the StatePoint Liquid Cooling (SPLC) system, the world’s first commercially successful membrane evaporative cooler with large scale deployment in data centers. He is an accomplished inventor with many patents, a skilled communicator, technical writer, and presenter. He is the winner of the 2024 APEGS Outstanding Achievement Award.
Reza Haghgoo (PhD., P.Eng)
Founding Partner
Reza is a specialist in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), heat and mass transfer, and turbulent air-particle flows. He applied his expertise in engineering R&D to develop practical designs that met the requirements for first cost, operating cost, performance, and reliability, contributing to the successful commercial launch of the SPLC system.
